29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11): "Steep roofs." Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. On or about December 7, 2016, during the installation of roofing material for the construction of a commercial building, located at 18719 Drake Road, Strongsville, Ohio, the employer did not ensure employees were protected from a fall hazard of approximately 17 feet (roof to ground), while working from a roof with a 5/12 pitch (slope), by utilizing a guardrail system, safety new system, and/or other fall protection system or device. CHANELL ROOFING & HOME IMPROVEMENT, LLC., WAS PREVIOUSLY CITED FOR A VIOLATION OF THIS OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH STANDARD OR ITS EQUIVALENT STANDARD, 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1), WHICH WAS CONTAINED IN OSHA INSPECTION NUMBER 1099366, CITATION NUMBER 01, ITEM NUMBER 001 AND WAS AFFIRMED AS A FINAL ORDER ON OR ABOUT FEBRUARY 2, 2016, WITH RESPECT TO A WORK PLACE LOCATED AT 2961 SPRING VALLEY PIKE, MIAMISBURG, OHIO.
