29 CFR 1910.95(c)(1): The employer did not administer a continuing, effective hearing conservation program as described in 29 CFR 1910.9(c) through (o) whenever employee noise exposures equal or exceed an 8-hour time-weighted average sound level of 85 decibels measured on the A scale, or equivalently a dose of fifty percent:    On or about April 20, 2018, the following employees were exposed to noise levels which equaled or exceeded an 8-hour time-weighted average (TWA) of 85 dBA:    a.  The employee sorting plastic feed material at the conveyor in the sorting area was exposed to an 8-hour noise level of 89.8 dBA.  (Equivalent dose of 98.28%).  Time sampled was 462 minutes.    b.  The employee operating the 8-inch extruder was exposed to an 8-hour noise level of 88.12 dBA.  (Equivalent dose of 77.1%).  Time sampled was 463 minutes.    The employer did not establish and maintain a continuing, effective hearing conservation program for these employees.    Abatement documentation is required of this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).
