29 CFR 1917.45(k)(2): A designated person did not thoroughly inspect all functional components and accessible structural features of each crane or derrick at monthly intervals. a) Virginia International Terminal Gateway, Crane #7: On or about 01/23/2019, a thorough inspection of the festoon system was not conducted monthly, as a result a heavy motor fell to the dock occupied by longshoremen. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
