29 CFR 1910.37(b)(4): Signs were not posted along the exit access indicating the direction of travel to the nearest exit and exit discharge when the direction of travel to the exit or exit discharge was not immediately apparent: American Synthetic Fiber, LLC, 312 Holland Drive, Pendergrass, GA - Throughout the Plant, on or about 02/27/2020, employees were exposed to an entrapment hazard. There were marked, and identified emergency exit doors located throughout the shop that were concealed by large machines and storage material. These products were in the line of sight to the exit doors. There were no directional exit markings indicating the way to travel. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).

29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(6): Except as provided in paragraphs (f)(7) and (f)(8) of this section, the employer shall ensure that each container of hazardous chemicals in the workplace is labeled, tagged or marked with either: (i) The information specified under paragraphs (f)(1)(i) through (v) of this section for labels on shipped containers; or, (ii) Product identifier and words, pictures, symbols, or combination thereof, which provide at least general information regarding the hazards of the chemicals, and which, in conjunction with the other information immediately available to employees under the hazard communication program, will provide employees with the specific information regarding the physical and health hazards of the hazardous chemical. a) American Synthetic Fiber, LLC, 312 Holland Drive, Pendergrass, GA - In the Production Area, several totes throughout the facility were observed not properly labeled and identified as required. Employees were exposed to skin irritation hazards, on or about 02/27/20. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).
