29 CFR 1926.1052(c)(12):  Unprotected sides and edges of stairway landings were not provided with guardrail systems that meet the criteria contained in Subpart M of this part:  a)  On April 16, 2021, employees were exposed to the hazard of falling up to approximately 11 feet to the ground while using two stairway landings neither of which were equipped with a guardrail system.    In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).

Employees engaged in framing work are not protected from fall hazards while working at an elevation of approximately 11 feet and 22 feet above the ground.  Emerald Inc., was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1476144, citation number 2, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on January 15, 2021, with respect to a workplace located at 751 Meacham Rd. Elk Grove Village, IL 60007.
