29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): Employees were not provided with eye and face protection equipment when machines or operations present potential eye or face injury from physical, chemical, or radiation agents:   a) This most recently occurred between November 9, 2022, and November 10, 2022 at 445 Woodland Chase Ln., Vernon Hills, IL 60061. Employees are exposed to eye injury while operating pneumatic nail guns without eye protection during framing work.  Emerald Inc., was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1525494, citation number 3, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on November 4, 2021, with respect to a workplace located at 751 Meacham Rd. Elk Grove Village, IL 60007.   Emerald Inc., was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1476144, citation number 3, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on January 15, 2021, with respect to a workplace located at 751 Meacham Rd. Elk Grove Village, IL 60007.   Emerald Inc., was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1284456, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on March 27, 2018, with respect to a workplace located at W. Main St. & N. Old Rand Rd., Lake Zurich, Illinois 60047.  Emerald Inc., was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1270365, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on March 27, 2018, with respect to a workplace located at 75 W. Thacker St., Schaumburg, Illinois 60173.   To abate this hazard in the future, the employer must ensure that each employee is provided with eye and face protection and instructed to wear it during framing work when machines, tools or operations present potential eye or face injury.

29 CFR  1926.1052(c)(1)(i): Stairways having four or more risers or rising more than 30 inches (76 cm), whichever is less, were not equipped with at least one handrail:    a) On November 9, 2022 and November 10, 2022, at 445 Woodland Chase Ln., Vernon Hills, IL 60061.  In order to access and egress the workspace, employees were utilizing a stairway having more than four risers and was not equipped with a handrail.  Emerald Inc., was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.1052(c)(1)(i), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1525494, citation number 3, item number 4 and was affirmed as a final order on November 4, 2021, with respect to a workplace located at 751 Meacham Rd. Elk Grove Village, IL 60007.
