29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Machine Shop: On or about July 22, 2021, employees performed drilling, boring, and cutting of metal parts with a vertical milling machine manufactured by Vectrax (model: GS-16N, SN: 851-122) which was not guarded at the point of operation, exposing employees to rotating parts. b) Machine Shop: On or about July 22, 2021, employees rolled sheets of metal using a powered 3-roll bending machine which was not guarded at the point of operation, exposing employees to an ingoing nip point.
