29 CFR  1910.106(d)(2)(i):  Approved containers and portable tanks were not used to store flammable or combustible liquids.  In the following locations where flammable liquid were used and stored in plastic containers.  The employer had not used approved containers such as metal safety cans to hold flammable liquids:  a)  Facility: Maintenance:  an employee in the maintenance department used and stored a Category 1 flammable liquid, gasoline, in plastic containers.     b) Facility: Maintenance:  an employee stored diesel fuel, a Category 2 flammable, in a 5 gallon container for use during equipment operations and repairs.  The employee was exposed to fire hazards.

The employer had not assessed the employee's exposure to welding fumes to determine if respiratory protection personal protective equipment was required.   The employee was exposed to respiratory irritants that could exacerbate underlying medical conditions.
