Facilities at 940 and 950 Wellington Avenue, Cranston RI:   On or about August 18, 2021, the employer did not ensure the Corian shop (bldg. 940) and the stone fabrication shop (bldg. 950) were kept in a clean, orderly and sanitary condition exposing employees to slip, trip and fall hazards. a.) The Corian shop floor, window ledges, and electrical outlets were covered in dust. b.) The stone fabrication shop floor was covered in dry dust that contained silica.  Work stations were covered with dust and debris and the floor was covered with debris.

Employees in the Corian shop (bldg. 940) were exposed to nuisance dust from cutting Corian countertops. Employees were exposed to flammable chemicals including, but not limited to, adhesives and denatured alcohol, and noise from various power tools such as table saws, routers,  sanders, vacuums and dust collection systems. b.) Employees in the stone fabrication shop (bldg. 950) were exposed to silica dust, flammable chemicals including, but not limited to, acetone, physical hazards from moving heavy stone countertops, and noise from stone cutting and polishing equipment including, but not limited to, CNC machines, grinders and pneumatic water-fed stone polishers.
