On or about May 14, 2025, the employer did not ensure employees were clean shaven prior to wearing tight fitting respirators to perform tasks that exposed them to respirable crystalline silica, including but not limited to polishing, cutting and grinding solid surface materials.

On or about May 14, 2025, the employer did not ensure employees were medically cleared to use an elastomeric respirator before being required to perform tasks that exposed shop employees to respirable crystalline silica, including but not limited to polishing, cutting and grinding solid surface materials. Stone Depot of Rhode Island, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.134(e)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1549750, citation number 1 item number 3e and was affirmed as a final order on February 25, 2022 with respect to a workplace located at 940 Wellington Avenue Cranston, Rhode Island.
