29 CFR  1910.151(c): Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use. Reference: ANSI Z358.1 Emergency Eyewash and Shower Standard 5.4.4 The eyewash unit shall be located on the same level as the hazard and the path of travel shall be free of obstructions that may inhibit the immediate use of the equipment.  Inns of the Corps: On or before February 1, 2023, employees handled corrosive chemicals such as 14 Plus Antibacterial All Purpose Cleaner while conducting cleaning, and disinfecting tasks. Employer had the following:  a) Building 2514, housekeeping closets on the first floor: Wall mounted eyewash station did not provide 15-minute continuous flow for drenching for emergency aid and had the access blocked by a mop basin and a Ecolab dispensing system. b) Building 2514, housekeeping closet on the second floor: Wall mounted eyewash station did not provide 15-minute continuous flow for drenching for emergency aid and had access blocked by a housekeeping cart.  c) Building 2515, housekeeping laundry: Wall mounted eyewash station did not provide 15-minute continuous flow for drenching for emergency aid and it was placed on the floor which prevented direct access to it.   Employees were potentially exposed to eye and skin itchiness, redness, and/or corneal abrasion.

29 CFR  1910.1200(f)(10):  The employer did not ensure that workplace labels or other forms of warnings were prominently displayed on the container or readily available in the work area throughout each work shift.  Building 2515, first floor housekeeping closet: On or before February 1, 2023, an employee conducted assigned custodial tasks with Waxie Traffic Lane Carpet Pre spray. The employer did not ensure a secondary label containing health and safety warnings were affixed to the bottle for the employee to use. Employees were exposed to eye redness, blurred vision, and/or abrasion to the cornea.
