29 CFR 1910.157(c)(1): Portable fire extinguishers were not mounted, located and identified so that they were readily accessible without subjecting the employees to injuries:  1st Floor Laundry Room: On and/or before September 22, 2023,  fire extinguisher(s) were not mounted to the wall. Unmounted fire extinguisher(s) may cause a delayed response and/or inability to locate during an emergency. This condition potentially exposed employee(s) to fire and/or smoke inhalation hazards.  The Marine Lodge San Diego was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.157(c)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1628909, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on January 12, 2023, with respect to a workplace located at 3800 Chosin Ave BLDG 625 San Diego, CA 92140.

29 CFR 1910.303(b)(2): Listed or labeled electrical equipment was not used or installed in accordance with instructions included in the listing or labeling:  3rd Floor Employee Break Room: On and/or before September 22, 2023, multiple appliances such as microwaves and stoves were plugged into relocatable power taps in which were not used according to listing and labeling instructions. This condition potentially exposed employee(s) to electrical shock and/or fire hazards.  In the following locations:  a) South Wall of 3rd floor employee break room b) East Wall of 3rd floor employee break room  The Marine Lodge San Diego was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.303(b)(2), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1628909, citation number 1, item number 2a and was affirmed as a final order on January 12, 2023, with respect to a workplace located at 3800 Chosin Ave BLDG 625 San Diego, CA 92140.

A black flexible cord was used in lieu of fixed wiring of a structure to power a Whirlpool refrigerator. Employee(s) were potentially exposed to electrical shock and/or fire hazard(s).
