29 CFR  1910.151(c): Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use:  Located at the Red Fir facility in the lower (roads) area, the eyewash station did not have sufficient water pressure to allow flushing of both eyes at the same time. The fixture was dirty, leaked on the bottom, and had rust on the left side fixture. Employees are exposed to potential eye injuries such as burns or blindness from corrosive materials.  The U.S. Department of the Interior - National Park Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard 29 CFR 1910.151(c), which was contained in the following OSHA inspection number 1592067, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 07/20/2022, with respect to a workplace located at 1800 Cabrillo Memorial Drive, San Diego, CA 92106.

One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. PM2800B, serial no. 1702557, was not guarded at the point of operation to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as flying wood chips and rotating parts.  The U.S. Department of the Interior - National Park Service was previously cited for violations of this occupational safety and health standard 29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1), which were contained in the following inspections: 1). OSHA inspection number 1632185, citation number 2, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on 05/16/2023, with respect to a workplace located at 38050 Highway 36 East, Mineral, CA 96063. 2). OSHA inspection number 1634386, citation number 5, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on 12/29/2022, with respect to a workplace located at 500 Aubell Lane, Crescent City, CA 95531.  3). OSHA inspection number 1515061, citation number 2, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on 05/07/2021, with respect to a workplace located at Clover Creek Waste Water Plant, 64100 Generals Highway, Three Rivers, CA 93271.

29 CFR  1910.213(l)(2): Boring bits were not provided with guards that would enclose all portions of the bit and chuck above the material being worked.   Located at the Red Fir wood shop, the hollow chisel mortising bit on the Powermatic mortiser machine was not guarded to prevent operator contact with the exposed portion of the boring bit and to protect from flying wood chips. The rotating chuck was guarded, but the bit was exposed. Contact with the point of operation and the hollow chisel bit can result in injuries such as lacerations.
