29 CFR 1910.151(c): Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use. Reference: ANSI Z358.1 Emergency Eyewash and Shower Standard 5.4.4 The eyewash unit shall be located on the same level as the hazard and the path of travel shall be free of obstructions that may inhibit the immediate use of the equipment.  On and/or before July 25, 2023, employee(s) handled corrosive and hazardous chemicals while cleaning, disinfecting tasks, and/or associated maintenance tasks. The employer did not ensure the appropriate eyewash station was provided for drenching and flushing of the eyes and free from obstructions. This condition potentially exposed employee(s) to serious eye retinal, corneal damage and/or burns.  In the following locations: a) Building 1123, Paint Shop: employee(s) used a Clorox Disinfecting Bleach, Fabuloso Professional b) Building 1123, Carpenter shop: Lysol All Purpose Cleaner  The Marine Corps was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.151(c), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1647677, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on May 05, 2023, with respect to a workplace located at MCAS Miramar Building 2514 & 2515, San Diego, CA 92145.

29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(10): The employer did not ensure that workplace labels or other forms of warnings were prominently displayed on the container or readily available in the work area throughout each work shift:  Building 1123, Paint Shop: On and/or before July 25, 2023, employee(s) used an unlabeled bottle to mop the paint shops floor. The employer did not ensure secondary label containing health and safety warnings were affixed to the bottle for the employee to use. Employee(s) were potentially exposed to eye redness, blurred vision, abrasion to the cornea, nausea, irritation of the nose and/or throat irritations.  The Marine Corps was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(10), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1647677, citation number 2, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on May 05, 2023, with respect to a workplace located at MCAS Miramar Building 2514 & 2515 San Diego, CA 92145.

29 CFR 1910.134(h)(2)(i): Respirators were not stored to protect them from damage, contamination, dust, sunlight, extreme temperatures, excessive moisture, and damaging chemicals or were not packed or stored to prevent deformation of the facepiece and exhalation valve:  Building 1123, Paint Shop: On and/or before July 25, 2023, employee(s) wore a 3M N95 Respirator when conducting dry wall work. The employer did not ensure the respirators were stored to protect them from damage, contamination, dust, sunlight, extreme temperatures, excessive moisture, and damaging chemicals or were not packed or stored to prevent deformation of the facepiece and exhalation valve. The employee was potentially exposed to inhalation hazards.
