An employee could become the ground in the system and electricity could travel through the employee which could cause injuries such as severe burns or electrocution.

When normally enclosed live parts are exposed for inspection or servicing, the working space, if in a passageway or general open space, shall be suitably guarded.  On or about August 2, 2023, in the electrical room, the working space in front of the electrical panels was used for the storage of cardboard boxes filled with paper files. Access to the panels in case of emergency may be delayed, exposing employees to burns or smoke inhalation.   Moapa Paiute Travel Plaza was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1559062, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on November 24,2021, with respect to a workplace located at Interstate 15, Exit 75, Moapa, NV 89025.
