29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b): a- 29 & 31 Halsey Street, Lakewood NJ: Workers and the company worksite Foreman were exposed to fall hazards, in excess of 24 feet to the ground surface below, when walking and working from a residential structure's pitched roof while wearing full body harnesses that were not attached to anchors with lanyards. Condition observed on or about 09/14/23. IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.

29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed: a- 29 & 31 Halsey Street, Lakewood NJ: The company worksite Foreman and their workers were exposed to fall hazards, up to and in excess of 24 feet to the ground surface below, when accessing to and egressing from a pitched roof using a portable ladder whose side rails did not extend at least 3 feet above the surface being accessed/egressed. Condition observed on or about 09/14/23.
