Before the incident
while on the scene of an emergency assignment Paramedic [REDACTED] along with his partner and a number of other responders scaled the embankment in order to access the patient .
What happened
On [REDACTED] paramedic [REDACTED]([REDACTED]) was on scene of a single vehicle roll over with a single patient. Rescue was actively working to extricate the patient. [REDACTED] was walking down the 15-20ft hill ditch where vehicle was located. While walking down the hill [REDACTED] was attempting to walk with caution by holding on to some brush to aid with incline transition. Ground was covered in leaves. As [REDACTED] was walking he stepped on slick mud that covered by leaves that caused his feet to come off the ground and landed straight on his back. [REDACTED] was able to get up on his own and continued to his patient for assessment. After pt was stabilized [REDACTED] took OTC Motrin and contacted [REDACTED] (myself) to inform of the incident and onset of stiffness pain and popping in his upper left side of back and neck. At this time he did not feel as though he would need to be seen in the ED Once [REDACTED] arrived at [REDACTED] he transferred the patient with his partner and co
