What happened

On [REDACTED] at approximately [REDACTED] a Wayfair associate reported an injury on their left hand thumb while loading in shipping in door 216. The associate states that while loading in door 216 the belt was loaded with boxes and wouldn’t stop moving forward. One box was pushing the one in front and the box bent their left thumb backwards. The associate reported an initial pain level of 9 when the injury occurred and a pain level of 10 at the time of the report. During the investigation the site found that the incident occurred in door 216 while loading the [REDACTED] CPT at approximately [REDACTED]. The associate was loading while the belt was overloaded with boxes and pushing against one another. The very first box was coming down and when the associate went to grab it. It bent their left thumb backwards. The associate was performing the task for approximately 2 hours and 43 minutes prior to the injury.
