Making hole in coating on the end of the valve handle to lock out the hydraulics.

EE was trying to clean out a hole on a ball valve handle so a safety cable could be routed through and lockout could be preformed on ball valve. While cleaning the hole out EE’s hand slipped off the handle of the tool and struck an object causing laceration to the side of the left hand. Once EE realized they needed medical assistant they contacted first responders.
