29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1):Types of guarding. One or more methods of machine guarding shall be provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. Examples of guarding methods are-barrier guards, two-hand tripping devices, electronic safety devices, etc. On or about March 7, 2022, with respect to a worksite located at 2121 Brooks Ave, Neenah, WI 54956, employees were exposed to potential caught-in hazards while working with the Sigma Type SN40A-50A Lathe in the Plant 3 DISA Maintenance area when the lathe was not equipped with a guard covering the chuck.

OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1) The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees On or about March 1, 2022, with respect to an establishment located at 2121 Brooks Ave, Neenah, WI 54956, employees repairing the 407 34GN Shot Blast were allowed to use a hand tool in an unsafe condition while using a Coffing LSB-B Series Lever Chain Hoist in a manner prohibited by the manufacturer.
