A spraying area with adequate mechanical ventilation to remove flammable vapors or mists to a safe location was not provided by the correcting employer. The subcontracted employee was exposed to smoke inhalation and contact with fire hazards.

29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(3)(iii): Employee training did not include the measures employees can take to protect themselves from chemical hazards, including specific procedures the employer had implemented to protect employees from exposure to hazardous chemicals, such as appropriate work practices, emergency procedures and personal protective equipment to be used:  Pechanga Casino & Hotel; elevator: A subcontracted employee used flammable liquids while cleaning and refinishing the elevator with doors closed. The correcting employer observed the subcontracted employee use inappropriate work practices. The subcontracted employee did not receive effective training on the safety and health concerns such as reproductive hazards, flash point and flammability, or respiratory sensitivity by the controlling employer. The subcontracted employee was exposed to smoke inhalation and contact with fire hazards.
